If you are named or pictured in a story
You do not have to be a publisher to ask us to act. If you are named, quoted or pictured in something we have published — or if you are a parent or guardian of someone who is — email editor@nexcom.media and tell us the page and what is wrong. We will unpublish the page, remove your name, remove the photograph, or correct the record. You do not need a lawyer, you do not need a formal notice, and we will not ask you to justify the request. We aim to act within two business days.
Requests we treat as urgent and act on first: anything involving a child; a photograph of a person who has been arrested but not convicted; an emergency alert or missing-person appeal that has since been resolved; and anything that is factually wrong about a criminal case.
What we publish
The Houston publishes short attributed items about reporting done by other outlets, and links back to them. For many short items, the text we display is the outlet’s own feed summary rather than something we wrote. We do not republish full articles, and we do not host, copy, cache or serve third-party photographs — image references redirect to the publisher’s own server.
What we do not claim
We do not claim copyright in, and do not license, reporting or photographs we did not create. Any Creative Commons offer on this site covers only text we actually wrote and our own structured data.
What we will do, on request
Remove a specific summary or image.
Correct attribution, a byline, or a source link.
Replace a syndicated link with a direct link to your article.
Stop entirely — we will remove your outlet from our monitored sources so no future items are drawn from it, and remove existing ones if you ask.
We aim to act within two business days of a request reaching editor@nexcom.media. Removals are permanent unless you tell us otherwise.
Access controls
If your site blocks automated access, disallows it in robots.txt, or its terms forbid reuse, that ends ingest for your outlet. We do not attempt to work around bot challenges, CAPTCHAs, or paywalls.
Corrections
Factual errors are handled through our public corrections log. Rights requests are handled here and are not published unless you ask us to record them.
