Drivers going to Galveston face I-45 lane closures, extended detour starting Aug. 8

Drivers heading to Galveston should be prepared for traffic changes on I-45. A project to widen the highway to eight lanes is underway, and it will impact traffic. Short-term main lane closures are expected from FM 519 to Tiki Drive.
