Governor Abbot has ordered a temporary halt on new data center approvals in Texas. This pause will remain in place until regulators have a chance to assess these projects.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, is involved in the evaluation process. According to ERCOT, the audit of the governor's data center initiative may take several months to complete.

Further information on the data center audit and approval pause can be found through Houston Public Media.
