Beyoncé and Jay-Z treated themselves to a $1,000 culinary feast from Houston’s Taste Kitchen + Bar, giving high praise to the soulful southern dishes during their Cowboy Carter tour stop.
While in Houston for the Cowboy Carter tour over the weekend, Beyoncé and Jay-Z made a huge $1,000 food order at Taste Kitchen + Bar. This received a big thumbs up from many famous people. Jay-Z was allegedly impressed with the food and said, "I was not even mad, that is how good that s--t was."
Jay-Z had not eaten pork in years, but he made an exception because he liked the taste so much. Beyoncé's cousin, singer-songwriter Angie Beyince, posted a video of the spread on Instagram, calling it "the first taste of Houston we had on the Cowboy Carter Tour." "This food makes me miss home!"
Taste Kitchen's famous dish, Surf & Turf, was on the Carters' fancy order. It came with jerk lamb chops and deep-fried lobster, fried lobster tail, blackened or fried catfish and shrimp, smothered chicken with collard greens and candied yams, chicken and waffles, and lobster mac and cheese. Side dishes, such as yams, collard greens cooked in garlic, cheesecake, whiskey butter cake, and deep-fried waffle bread pudding, made the meal complete.
Chef Bowie thanked everyone and said, "It is an honor to create memorable culinary moments that reflect Houston's rich food culture." The opportunity arose because JR Martins of Alife Hospitality informed the famous couple about Taste Kitchen.
Bowie also said, "It got to the heart of how we help each other in Houston." We were truly thankful and proud when we later learned that they loved the food.
With this great review, Taste Kitchen might become the Carters' new favorite place to eat in Houston.
