There was a large-scale animal rescue operation that was carried out at The List Pet Store in Santa Fe, Texas, by the Houston SPCA in conjunction with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. Over eight hundred animals were rescued as a result of the authorities carrying out a seizure warrant on Thursday morning. This action was taken in response to concerns regarding the care of the animals.
At the pet store, which is situated close to the 14000 block of Highway 6, it was discovered that a wide variety of animals were being kept in conditions that were not satisfactory. species such as dogs, cats, reptiles (snakes, turtles, and lizards), rodents (hedgehogs), birds (ducks, chickens), and even exotic species such as peacocks were among those that were rescued.
At the moment, the Houston SPCA is doing a health assessment on the animals and giving them with the appropriate medical attention. At The List Pet Store, further investigation is being conducted to see whether or not there have been any violations of animal welfare rules.
