The Michelin Guide will host its 2025 Texas ceremony Oct. 28 at Houston’s Wortham Center, where chefs will discover if their restaurants earn a coveted star or other distinctions.

This fall, the Michelin Guide is set to highlight the vibrant culinary landscape of Texas once more. The global culinary organization has revealed plans to hold its 2025 Texas event on October 28 at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of Houston. Participation is limited to those who receive an invitation.
Chefs will gather to discover if their establishments have received Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmands, Green Stars, or other accolades. The Michelin Guide, known globally for its stringent standards, is considered one of the most esteemed awards in the culinary industry.
“Last year was a significant moment for the Texas restaurant scene, and we’re thrilled to keep honoring the state’s outstanding culinary talent at this year’s event,” stated Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide.
Michelin inspectors evaluate dining establishments based on five established criteria: the quality of ingredients, proficiency in cooking methods, balance of flavors, the chef's unique style evident in the dishes, and reliability over time and throughout the menu.
Michelin Stars continue to be the pinnacle of recognition, with one, two, or three stars granted to venues that deliver outstanding culinary experiences. The Bib Gourmand highlights eateries that deliver exceptional cuisine at outstanding prices, whereas the Michelin Green Star celebrates establishments that excel in sustainable dining practices. Inspectors might also point out suggested dining establishments and showcase professional accolades.
Initially released in France during the early 1900s, the Michelin Guide was designed to assist travelers in discovering exceptional dining options on their journeys. Throughout the years, it has transformed into the most impactful dining guide globally, with inspectors adhering to the same standards and techniques set over a hundred years ago.
The Michelin Guide's expansion into Texas has spotlighted the state's burgeoning culinary landscape, featuring everything from upscale dining venues in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio to beloved local spots that have achieved global acclaim.
For Texas chefs, the October ceremony signifies much more than mere accolades—it serves as an opportunity to highlight the ongoing evolution of the state's culinary landscape, merging tradition with innovation on an international level.
